Ana Kristina Gasteyer (born January 1 1977) is an American singer and comedian. Most notable is her time as a part of NBC's sketch comedy program Saturday Night Live. In the years since, she has starred in ABC's Suburgatory TBS People of Earth NBC American Auto and film Mean Girls. Gasteyer was a student of Northwestern University when she began her career as an actor. Her first course was a voice-major, then changed to theater study when she joined the university's improv group. Her enthusiasm for comedy influenced her through many roles including the submissive Sheila Shay in Suburgatory or the eccentric Karen Grisham on Lady Dynamite.
